ODE TO SUMMER two pieces dress

This modular dress consists of two separate pieces - a sleeveless dress and a cropped blouse — made of 100% nettle twill (a diagonally woven fabric) that is fairly dense and perfectly suited for the fall–spring seasons. Nettle is not something you often see in ready-to-wear collections, and it’s no surprise: it’s a quite rare, high-cost material. But we’re drawn to its natural, beautifully textured surface (even more expressive than linen) and its remarkable properties: it’s highly hygienic and breathable, making it excellent at regulating heat and moisture.

Why ODE TO SUMMER?
It’s our attempt to transform a purely summer garment — the sundress — into something seasonless, extending and “preserving” the feeling of summer. A piece that is conceptually light has been “wrapped” in a heavier autumn fabric and given an additional layer: a matching blouse.

There are many styling options for this dress: your can wear the sleeveless dress on bare skin or layer it over a fitted turtleneck or long-sleeve; style it with a shirt or sweater (in this case, the sundress functions almost like a skirt) or pair the blouse with trousers, skirts, or layer it over slip dresses.

When wearing the sleeveless dress and blouse together, you can create different looks as well: for example, tie the blouse in a wrap style (as in the photos) to achieve a feminine silhouette with an accent at the waist; or drape the blouse on top and knot the ties in front for a very relaxed fit
